Posted by flutieman07

The Avengers

They ran a 30-second spot for The Avengers during the Super Bowl, as most people may have noticed....Almost immediately after it rolled, Marvel posted an extended 60-second version of the spot online.  For the full spot, head on past the jump.

First Full Trailer for Marvel's 'The Avengers' Directed by Joss Whedon! | FirstShowing.net.

The first full trailer for the Avengers is/has been up for several days now.

I have to say this trailer was about what I expected and was nothing short of awesome.

I'm interested to see how the intermingling of heroes works out.  We've seen 3+ villains at once in movies like Spider-Man, Batman Begins, etc....i'm interested to see how an abundance of heroe's works out...as i'm a big fan of each one.

Check out the trailer, and begin to look forward to May 4, 2012 !

Arnold

Is it me, or does Arnold just seem wrong for a western? I mean it was a stretch getting Jackie Chan into a western in Shanghai Noon/Knights.

Donald Sutherland Cast as President Snow in ‘The Hunger Games’

Posted by flutieman07

Casting for the upcoming Lionsgate adaptation of best-selling novel The Hunger Games has been firing on all cylinders, and now they've managed to fill one of the biggest roles left with a pretty awesome name.

Donald Sutherland has been cast in the role of President Snow..He's the main villain for the entire run of the series, and despite his minute presence in the first book, he plays a major role over the course of the trilogy (seeing as I'm only on the second book, Catching Fire, I still haven't heard much from him, but he definitely has an intimidating presence in the chapters I've read so far).

Overall, this new franchise is shaping up nicely....I really think they may have found the next Harry Potter replacement with this one.  The buzz surrounding this one rivals the madness that has surrounded the Potter series for the past 10 years!  All the promo photos have been great...the real payoff is going to be when we finally get a trailer!

Trailer Musings: ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’

Posted by flutieman07

The first teaser for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo has finally made its way online, albeit a leaked version.

While I have never read the books that inspired this, I have to say this trailer is pretty interesting.  It's directed by David Fincher, the guy that brought us The Social Network, so I'll give it a shot when it comes out.  It's got a very gritty and intense look to it, and I can only hope the finished product is half as exciting to watch as this first teaser trailer.  Be warned, the clip below is NSFW.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo releases on December 21st, 2011.

Weekend Musings: ‘Hangover 2′ & ‘Kung Fu Panda 2′

Posted by markiemark1112

I knew that The Hangover Part II would be popular....but I wasn't quite expecting this kind of performance. 86.5 million for the weekend, 30 million additional on Thursday.  I would expect it pulls another 15 mil. at least on the Memorial Day Holiday.

Typically these types of movies are hugely frontloaded due to all the fanboys out there.  I won't be surprised when next weekends box office loses 60%....

Is X-Men: First Class Recruiting Kevin Bacon?

Posted by

Continuing to amass an amazing cast, there's a rumor floating around that Matthew Vaughn is attempting to get Kevin Bacon cast as a potential baddie in his upcoming X-Men: First Class.

I have to say, if this does indeed happen, it brings a great deal of credibility to an already stellar cast. I still question whether this movie will actually make its release date next summer though.  Seems like a very big rush for a potential franchise reboot.

X-Men: First Class is scheduled for release on June 3rd, 2011.

Head to /Film for a full breakdown on the cast that has already been assembled.

Random Musing: The Voice of Ghostface

Posted by

Happy to hear the news that the voice of Ghostface in Scream 4 will be reprised by none other than Roger L. Jackson, the same guy who did the voice for all the previous films.

I don't think this was really a surprise, considering it's a vital part to the movie....Can't wait to hear the famous tagline once again!

New One-Sheet for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Posted by

Twitter exploded earlier with the reveal of the first official one-sheet poster for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.   Here it is:

I really like how Warner Bros. is shifting away from the Part I and Part II business and really selling this as an overall experience.  This poster seems to be a very good indication of what to expect from David Yates and co. once Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I rolls around in November.

I've enclosed the trailer from earlier in the week after the jump...
