How to Train Your Dragon Flies High

Posted by

It's awesome to know that How to Train Your Dragon has officially become Dreamworks Animation's highest-grossing non-Shrek film.

Here's the official release from /Film:

The movie has now been in theaters for 95 days (or 14 weeks) and has grossed a total of $215.5 million domestically, surpassing Kung Fu Panda to become Dreamworks Animation’s highest grossing non-Shrek franchise movie of all time. And while DWA is technically independent of the live action DreamWorks SKG, it is interesting to note that Dragon is expected to surpass Steven Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan to become the highest grossing domestic non-Shrek franchise film in the history of both companies.

Toy Story Google Promo

I stumble onto this funny little video yesterday morning.  It's got a lot of shout outs to the prior Toy Story films, but it also creates a little bit more excitement for next week's release of Toy Story 3.  Take a look.

It's hard to believe that the time has finally come for the next Toy Story movie.  I still remember all the rumors over the years that it would be made, but to actually be this close is hard to believe.

I'm staying away from any major plot developments, so as to hopefully go in knowing as little as possible.  I've watched a little bit of behind the scenes footage of Day & Night, the short attached to it, and the trailers...but that's it.

Can't wait for next week! I've posted the trailer below.

First Look: Tangled

Posted by

This coming weekend, it looks like Disney is finally going to reveal some actual footage of their latest animated movie, Tangled.  Here's a quick teaser of what is likely to be teased this weekend.

I've been looking forward to this ever since I saw Bolt.  I loved the animation style of that movie, and it actually was a pretty great story too!  Hoping this lives up to the expectations.  Plot synopsis follows.

Directed by Byron Howard & Nathan Greno (the co-director and head of story on Bolt respectively), this new telling of the classic fairy tale Rapunzel (the original title of the film), will transport audiences “to a stunning CG fantasy world complete with the iconic tower, an evil witch, a gallant hero and, of course, the mysterious girl with the long golden tresses. Expect adventure, heart, humor, and hair, lots of hair.” Our lead heroine is voiced by Mandy Moore while Chuck’s Zachary Levi will play a “dashing bandit” named Flynn Ryder who hits the road with the “rebellious, teenage hair apparent.” The voice cast is also rumored to include David Schwimmer, Matthew Gary Gubler, Kristin Chenoweth, Dan Fogler, and Grey DeLisle.  is scheduled to hit theaters in Christmas 2010.

Despite this saying Christmas 2010, Tangled is actually scheduled to hit theaters in November 24th 2010.
