PS3 Musing: Twisted Metal

Posted by

If there's one major nostalgia-infused moment from E3 that didn't involve Nintendo, it has to be Sony's announcement that the Twisted Metal franchise is being relaunched on PS3.

I'm not sure how they made it this long without giving this franchise the HD update.  I remember many nights of my childhood were spent having one-on-one showdowns between Spectre and Sweet Tooth in some Eiffel Tower level.  I've never owned a Playstation, in any capacity, but I'm thinking this may finally force me to take the plunge.

Just the idea of the gameplay reminds me of all the potential this franchise will have in an HD capacity, and not to mention 16-player online support!  Yikes!

I'm hoping to couple this purchase with a PS3 price cut, so perhaps I can pick this up next year when it releases.  Until then, looking forward to more info and details!

Microsoft Eliminates the Red Ring of Death…Literally.

I found this little update about the new Xbox 360 redesign slightly humorous...

They mention the fact that the new consoles are "incapable" of getting red-ringed. It's slightly misleading in that now instead of a Red Ring of Death...you'll apparently get the Green Ring of Death.

Nice move Microsoft.
