Goldeneye 64 Gets Rebooted
At the Nintendo E3 Media briefing earlier this morning, Nintendo announced they are officially releasing a new Goldeneye game this holiday.
While I'm excited by the news, I think it's a little odd to use Daniel Craig's persona instead of Pierce Brosnan's. I get that there are probably issues using Pierce's likeness since he's no longer officially Bond, but he was Bond in Goldeneye. I mean come on.
Looks like we'll get 8-player online, although I think for nostalgia's sake, many people will want to stick to local 4-player matches. It'll be interesting to see what tweaks they make to the story to get it to work in single player. I'm sensing many reminders of levels from the N64 version with tweaks along the way.
All I know is it should be a much more accurate and proper reboot than that failed attempt back in the day where they released a game called Goldeneye, but it was literally about a guy with a golden eye. That was just cruel.
