Maura Tierney returns to TV!
I was excited about a year and a half ago when it was announced that Maura Tierney (ER, Liar Liar) was going to be a part of Parenthood on NBC.
Unfortunately, she was forced to drop out of the project to get treatment for breast cancer (which is now in remission) and was then replaced by the just-as-awesome Lauren Graham (of Gilmore Girls fame, if you somehow didn't know that). I was slightly disappointed, because I thought she would be a perfect fit in the show, and to this day I still hope they include the pilot she filmed on the Season 1 DVDs.
Anyway, TV Squad has the details of her return to TV in a new show called The Whole Truth, and I think I'll check it out to see how she does.
Tierney will play a deputy bureau chief in the Manhattan District Attorney's office in the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced procedural that follows a legal case from the perspective of both the defense and the prosecution. Rob Morrow will star as a criminal attorney who is Tierney's major courtroom adversary.
I noticed the show is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, and the guy knows how to entertain. I hope it does well. Once a trailer is released, I'll be curious to see how this one looks.
